Who is Jesus? (Part 1)

No matter what you have heard about Jesus, no matter what you believe about him—even if you have spent your entire life trying to study and understand who He really is, He is greater than you think He is.

He is greater than anything or anyone you can imagine, because Jesus is the image of Almighty God, the Creator of heaven and earth.

The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it.

Psalm 24:1a

If you are drawn to music, stand in awe that He is the architect of it. He created rhythm and harmony, the ears to enjoy them and the voices that sing. He is the author of birdsong and the one who fine-tuned the elephant’s trumpet.

If you are drawn to astronomy, wonder in amazement that He is the maker of the stars and calls them each by name. He created gravity and set the earth precisely where it is so life could multiply and flourish.

If you are drawn to the ocean, bow in reverence that He drew out its coastlines and filled it until it was teeming with creatures beyond number. He is the One who gives orders to the waves, “This far you may come and no farther; here is where your proud waves halt.”

If you are drawn to art, poetry, math, literature, animals, sports, food, or a million other beautiful things that fill our world with goodness and joy, then lift your hands in praise to Him because He is the source of what you love and admire. All good things come from His hand. He, as the Creator of heaven and earth, has filled His world with lovely things because He is the embodiment of love itself.
